MEET DANIELLE, New Leadership Delivering Results for Our Community

My early life was shaped by my grandmothers, each very different from each other, who contributed so much to my life. My southern grandmother was an amazing cook and baker; rising before the sun came up to make sure her family had an amazing homemade breakfast, including biscuits, to start their day. She worked in a mill in Georgia, with my grandpa, and her life was hard but she remained optimistic about improving life for her family.  My Michigan grandmother was an artist and pianist, and one of her favorite mediums was gardening.  Through her, I learned to value nature.

I graduated with honors from the University of Michigan at age 19, with a degree in Political Science and received my Juris Doctorate from Cooley Law School in 1987.  I have presented on the topics of political science, insurance, litigation issues, probate, and case management issues.  I am attorney because I like helping people and making sure all voices are heard in complex situations.  I have been an attorney for over 30 years, with my own law firm in Highland Township since 1998.  My law practice has focused on litigation, probate, and estate planning.  Early in my career, I was an attorney for insurance companies, including AAA of Michigan, Wausau Insurance Companies, and Nationwide Insurance Companies.  I am the CEO of Specialized Insurance Services Agency, Inc., a business started by my husband.  I love being an estate planning and probate attorney because I enjoy helping people plan for their longevity.  I am honored to help people plan their dreams and mitigate their fears about aging.

I am a current Board Member of Danny and Ron’s Rescue, which helps homeless dogs find their forever home and the Past President and Board Member of the Board of Trustees for the Exceptional Equestrian Foundation, which provided financial support to disabled persons for therapeutic horseback riding. I am a member of several legal organizations, and have previously chaired the Genesee County Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Committee, and served on the Genesee County Bar Association Circuit Court Committee.    I have been married since 1992 to my husband, Dean Schink, and we reside in Highland Township.
